WELCOME TO SOLARITE. Cats representing the four elements fight to survive and take all they can from the others. Pollution and mysterious events is what keeps everyone down, sometimes it proves to even be fatal. It's 'fend for yourself', everybody against everybody. Who will win? Who's side are you on?
the lioness was bored, as usual. nothing fun happened in earthinite - it was an incredibly inactive clan, compared to the ones nyte was used to. she yawned, looking around for something to do. nothing of interest met her eye. maybe she could talk to someone? but gaia wasn't in the mood for that. oh well. she guessed she had no choice.
Suppose one good thing about living as an Earthinite all your life is that you have a greater sensitivity to light and, thus, much better maneuverability in the dark.
Then, after, suppose that it's not such a great idea when being outside in sunlight too long actually starts to hurt. So, after a lovely few days of consecutively being longer in the sun than he has in a month before, Halaoui has to either wander around with his eyes closed or be subjected to a terrible headache even while inside the mine, however dark it is.
Well. He's not desperate to see.
It's hard to pick up particular scents when you're in a place typically filled with cats and consequently many different trails, plus the dampening effect of the dirt around them, but luckily there's one Halaoui knows already even if just a little - one lioness Gatherer sitting by herself. And who would he be if not affable? So the cat puts on his game face (in his case, looking calmly amiable as ever, only plus his eyes being shut ridiculously) and approaches gamely.
"no." gaia raised an eyebrow at halaoui - what was with the eyes shut? realizing he wouldn't be able to see it, the lioness said, "what happened to your eyes?"
A small snicker. "Yes, I suppose that was to be expected," he purrs, not as much amused as droll.
He shrugs lightly at the passably concerned question, settling onto his haunches. "Too much sunlight. Who knows where abouts the apothecary is. Cecilia, wasn't it?" It's possible that it could be permanent damage, but the apothecary's apprentice isn't anywhere he can find her, either.
"ah. sunlight. i guess i should've known that." the gatherer couldn't help but smirk a little, careful to not make any sound while doing so. "the apothecary - i haven't seen her much around. probably holed up in some apothecary tunnel or something."
Halaoui huffs a half-laugh in agreement. "Hmm. I wouldn't rule it out.
"Oh, well." He licks a paw before dragging it over his eyelids, airily. "Maybe it's not such a bad thing. Maybe if I keep my eyes closed long enough, I could turn cats into stone by looking at them. Maybe I can start seeing in 4D." Or maybe he'll just lose the ability to open them entirely. Could that happen? Did eyelids need exercise in the form of constant blinking?
