WELCOME TO SOLARITE. Cats representing the four elements fight to survive and take all they can from the others. Pollution and mysterious events is what keeps everyone down, sometimes it proves to even be fatal. It's 'fend for yourself', everybody against everybody. Who will win? Who's side are you on?
Ever since he met that pretty Pyronite girl, he found himself traveling along the Aquinite-Pyronite border; she intrigued him, caught him off guard. She did not seem to be like any other female, despite her rather ordinary features-- except for that white flower. He remembered that white flower, it was what stood out the most.
And so, Absolon took his time as he stared into fire-lovers' woody area, curious to see if anyone would pop out. Maybe Oraclekeeper, herself? He saw the shorter fae wandering around a lot, she was very.. suspicious. Untrustworthy. Deceptive.
She'd been hunting on her own; in the beginning she began to think she wouldn't get anything in these woods, however soon enough a rabbit had gone dashing past, now the plump body clamped on between her jaws. It was a long little rabbit - Ranun found it quite odd, just like that Absolon boy she'd met at the Gathering.
The bobcat jumped upon a log that was right by the border, laying parallel to it - she made such an action look simple, for those large round paws of her were made for jumping, be it high or far. Ranunculae walked along the fallen part of tree until she was hopping off again - all of a sudden she could have sworn she saw someone walking along the line between them and the Aquinites!
Her head shot up - and to her, surprisingly, relief - it was that cute apprentice she found awfully strange (in a good way) she came across at the meteorite. She lifted up a paw to fix her little white flower, after walking over with long, graceful strides. The Pyronite set her rabbit down, "Absolon!" Ranun called, picking up the rabbit and setting it down once more when she reached the border across from the male.
"Hey, water boy," she greeted in a more playful manner; most used "water boy" as an insult, however with her it was just kindly teasing. She smiled, "Do you remember me? It's Ranunculae..." Gosh, oh the trainee hoped he did!
Was he a magician or something? Could he summon people just by thinking of them? Because, he swore to god, right now he thought he was daydreaming; there was no way that it could be Ranunculae-- but it was. It became very lucid to him when she came bounding on over, calling his name and even talking. Was he supposed to respond? How was he supposed to respond? Maybe by a smile and.. turn away? Leave? He was just thinking this over too much.
"Oh, uh-- hello," Absolon replied rather awkwardly, anchoring his attention down to the rabbit. He was almost scared to look at her; what if this really was him imagining things? What if she disappeared when he looked into her eyes? That's what it surely felt like; but he dared himself to do it, and so he did.
Her eyes-- her piercing hazel eyes. They were so haunting, so warm; it was like her persona was fit perfectly for the Pyronites. Not because she seemed to have a boiling temper, but because her eyes had some sort of welcoming heat; he liked that. He liked the spunk she seemed to have. He liked the way she talked, the way she moved-- and even the way she smelled, even though she smelled like the volcano's smolders in a way. It was interesting, different.
Why was he so awestruck by her? He felt like he knew her in a way, yet he'd only engaged in a conversation with the bobcat only once. Still, there was a heavy feeling in his chest-- and a sick feeling in his stomach. "I do remember," He started off, trying to swat away the awkward vibes he continued to send off. "But you're a Pyronite, I'm sure your leader would be upset to see you conversing with me.[/b}
Was he nervous? The femme couldn't honestly tell - was he? Or was he just... awkward? Bad thoughts filled Ranunculae's head, such as if he liked her or not, however not really in much of a romantic way but just plain old personality wise and so on. The quieted her a bit as she shyly looked down at her paws. But with his last set of words was when the warmth in her hazel eyes sparked, forming a small flame.
"Absolon, trust me, I could care less if you were Aquinite," she assured him sternly, confidently getting up onto her paws and taking a slow step, almost hesitant with the start of it, across the border. With her head help up playfully high Ranun took a seat beside him, jumping a bit at the feeling of the servals fur briefly brushing against hers. Oops.
Either way, the bobcat was a daring little thing in her own form. "Oraclekeeper? I'm sure she wouldn't mind too much... She talks to Blahkenmuro, doesn't she? I don't care what she thinks about me talking to you. It's just words." Ranunculae paused a bit, starting to shift around and finally shuffling a little bit away from him - she didn't want to invade personal space. "I mean, sitting with you... would probably upset her, but..."
His eyes widened like two big dollar coins, and instantly an alert feeling flooded all of his other senses. Holy shit, this girl was going to get him in so much trouble-- and she was going to get herself in trouble! He was gonna get her ass whooped by someone if they saw.
But then, they touched. It was a very small and subtle one, but she was still sitting close enough-- this was actually terrifying. The serval had never talked to a girl, nevermind touched one; but still. She was a Pyronite, she should not have been here. God dammit
He cleared his throat as his lips pursed, instantly averting his gaze and trying to look off into the distance to see if anyone was coming. He saw no one though, surprisingly-- but they could come at any minute. What would they say if they saw them? Would their vocabulary be.. colorful?
"I see." He murmured as he directed his copper eyes back down to the bobcat, furrowing his brows ever so slightly. "But-- she could possibly get the wrong idea. Not that.. there is anything to think of, but--" He cut himself off, shutting his mouth before he said anything else wrong. He was messing up so much! "That.. That would probably add onto that. The thoughts, I mean."

Ranunculae's ears went back a bit; what was wrong with well... being the wrong idea? However, those ears slowly popped back up, little black tufts pointing towards the sky and white flower moving slightly. "You're such a worry wart, Absolon! Honestly, I would have expected you to be more daring, just like your leader," she teased him, gently attempting to bump into the servals side playfully.
The femme got onto her round paws, shaking her short tail to get the tiniest bit of dust out of it. "If you're so paranoid, I know where we could go where no one will find us." Would he be up for it? She truly did hope... Se wished to spend more time with the male, however would he want to do the same with her? He was handsome and she was just, well, Ranunculae.
"It's a bit off, though. If we run into someone I'll say you are new and I'm showing you around the territory," Ranun explained, suddenly brushing against him to hide his Aquinite scent some with her own - Pyronite mingled with some sweet smell. "I'm gonna cover your scent, so don't go back to Aquinite without rolling around a bit."
"I..! I am not!" He replied in shock, almost sounding whiny; his own bat-like ears perked as well as his dark eyes widened. Though, his eyes returned to their normal shape when he blinked. Her little bump made him grin a bt, even giving him the inspiration to try to bump her back-- but it was very light, seeing that he did not want to harm her. Not like he could though, he was sort of.. weak.
His grin faultered a bit as she spoke of going somewhere else-- and that was bad. That meant that she would come deeper into the territory, or she would bring him to her territory. That was worse. "Uh.." He replied emptily, looking around just one more time. "If.. you promise that we won't get in trouble."
Absolon got up to his paws as well-- and now, she was brushing up against him! He felt his face get hot with embarrassment as she had done so, and yet again his lips were sewn back together in order to keep his trap shut. "I see.. A lot of holes in this plan..." He muttered a reply as he turned his face away, his lips quivering a bit as he felt his face grow even hotter.
Ranunculae giggled a bit at his reactions, beginning to press herself against him in a playful attempt to knock him over. "Loosen up, will you? You're so worried and all, Absolon... I'll make sure no one comes arose us if you care so much." And with that she froze a bit, taking a seat close beside him.
"I desperately want to be your friend, however you're making it so hard!" The bobcat had no irritation in her voice - it was more close to teasing than it was the other. "If you don't want to go with my plan then just sit back down again, I guess, and wait for a patrol from one of our -ites to come across us... because I'm not leaving!" Ah, yes, she could be the stubborn little miss as she was now at times, though it was rare.
Ranun leaned in a bit, those hazel eyes wide and blinking. "I'll promise you anything, Absolon... besides my mother, I think you are the only other person I have, be it water boy or not," she whispered, the femme speaking softly like she often did. However it seemed, when around the serval, she was a bit... different. It was odd how he made her change and feel.
"Where's your plan, then, huh?" she joked, suddenly a purr rumbling in her throat, "We could be rebels, rebels with a cause, Absolon! How thrilling would that be? It would be perfect! We could walk together along the border, right on it but on our sides, enough to make them mad but unable to do anything..."
"I just don't want to die" His frown deepened as he listened to her words, though he nodded his head slowly. He.. put his trust in her. He was giving his life to her, it was in her paws; assuming that this was retro to the Pyronites being neutral with Aquinites, hat meant that he would be killed if someone found out-- that was not what he wanted. Ranunculae was pretty and funny, but she wasn't dying for. Not yet, at least.
He blinked at her next words, quite shocked-- was she joking? She had to be, she did not sound angry or upset. Hell, she was even smiling! "Well-- I want to be your friend too, but you're so.. too daring!" He playfully stuck his tongue out as he twisted his body to face her, retracting his tongue within a few minutes. "Well.. well I guess-- we could.. go into Pyronites land. I guess it would be a nice change." Again, Absolon looked over his shoulders to see if anyone was coming. But still, nothing. Huh. Weird.
As she leaned towards him, an odd feeling gripped him and his heart began to thump-- she was getting closer to his face, dear god. God, he was-- oh god. Again, the redness under his fur blazed; but he still kept his seemingly cool facade. "I.. am?"
Gosh, what a strange girl.
"Woah now! Rebels!? We should we provoke them!" The golden wildcrat frowned as his jaw dropped slightly, his eyes searching her face for answers. "Let's-- c'mon, Ranunculae!"
And then, he took a daring move (or at least, it was for him); he ripped away from her and sprinted off into Pyronite's land, not even waiting for her to follow.
"Absolon, you doofus, be quiet!" she yelled back behind him, realized she herself was loud and giggling like wild as she sped up to get next to him. Those round paws were heavy on the ground, immense force built into them - there was almost a thumping noise coming from them. "C'mere!"
Finally Ranunculae was nearing the serval and with a little bit more strength she was dashing, dashing right beside him - in that moment things felt like a dream, they did, and Absolon has all part of it, too. The thrill engulfed her and soon she grinned from ear to ear, hazel eyes view turning to look at the side of his face. She stared for what felt like eternity but really was a few seconds.
The bobcat slowed down to a stop, some realization hitting her in the face like a brick. "Absolon, we barely know each other," Ranunculae started, looking up at sky, "So why do I trust you? Do you trust me, too, Absolon?" Questions, questions, questions - questions demanded answers and so did those hazel visionaries as she watched the male.
She began walking once more in the long, graceful strides as before, little stump of a tail bobbing like it was motioning him over. "That place I was talking about is over here - it got burnt by a small fire awhile back from the volcano's leaking, however the leak has been patched up by rock that formed there. I know a cave we could go in if you don't get creepy and try to slaughter me!"
He didn't slow down when he heard her calls, but instead sped up; in the back of his mind, all senses were screaming at him to get away from this girl. Yet, at the same time, he felt like he was bound to her; he felt as if he belonged to be by her side, running without a care in the world. He liked that, actually.
But then, she caught up. He stared at her in awe, amazed that she had the agility and strength; he liked how her fur bounced every time her paws met the ground, or how determination glinted in her hazel eyes. He liked.. her. A lot. Already. But why? He just met her, after all.
It took a few minutes until she caught his gawking, and then she instantly snapped his attention back forward. That.. that was awkward. Imagine if she knew what he was thinking of, yikes.
Her pace no longer met his, and from that piint he was rather confused. The serval slowed down, though his own question answered by her's. "What?" He meowed, blinking a bit. "I.. yeah, I guess. You sort of remind me of.. someone I used to know. I think. Well, not really-- but I get a strange feeling."
But then she seemed to forget about it, trotting past him with ease; but his legs hadn't moved. This girl sure was confusing, damn. "I-- I wouldn't hurt you! Solarite knows that karma would get me back, anyway.." His last sentence was kind of a mumble, but if Ranunculae had been listening she could have probably been able to hear his low words.
But, without hesitation, Absolon followed her further into enemy territory, looking around now and then for danger.
The femmes tufted ears perked up. So she wasn't alone. "You get that feeling, too? I feel like I've known you for a lifetime, yet for some reason at the same time there is a... a gap, Absolon, and I don't understan -" Ranunculae cut herself off, frowning. "Never mind. I sound crazy, like a dingbat."
During the time she was speaking she was walking, finally coming to a stop a few steps in front of a small cave interest. Burned trees rested at the entrance - the only obstacle, but an easy one. Ranun didn't look back as she easily, like nothing, made her way over the trees. As stated before - her body was made for jumping. The darkness of the cave engulfed her and all that was seen was her hazel eyes as she turned around.
"It goes down a bit so the entrance is a bit high up, blocking us from any possible view even if someone was to come. No one comes here, though, because prey never loves it in this area and it's not like it's a border." Her voice was a bit shaky, possibly from the chillies of the cave. The longer she was in there the colder it got.
So she felt the same way? Hmm.. odd. Perhaps it wasn't just him being crazy then, huh? But-- she wasn't. Or in his eyes, at least. "You're fine." Absolon murmured in reply, shaking his head and grinning slightly in amusement.
For the rest of the short journey there, the serval seemed to have been lost in thought. Maybe they met before? Maybe when they were kits? He was a loner when he was a kitten, but still.. there was the possibility. He did not believe in reincarnation, but maybe that was the chance too? Or.. they could be soul mates. The list went on.
Before long, it seemed as though the two finally found their destination; he was ripped away from his own mind, choosing to ignore any questions that he had. They would be no use, seeing that they'd go unanswered anyway. Why waste the time mulling it over in your head?
Unlike Ranunculae, he had some trouble navigating through the trees and up over the big dead one. But with time, he managed to catch up; he heard how shaky her voice was, and honestly he couldn't decipher whether or not it was because she was scared or cold. Hm. "If no one ever comes here, then how did you find this?"

She grinned a bit at his question. "Because I'm rebellious," she answered, contained excitement in her voice. "I don't have anyone to control me! I'm... I'm free! ...Well, my mother can control me, but..." Ranun shakily laughed a bit at herself, the chill in the cave getting more nippy. "Doesn't that sound thrilling, though?"
"I-I'm cold, Absolon - I've never actually... stayed in here... t-this long," she shivered, frowning as her tufted ears went back. The bobcat couldn't handle it - she was used to fierce heat, the warmth of a fire. The coldest thing she had ever felt was a decent breeze. All of a sudden the femme was moving... stirring, but where to?
Ranunculae plopped down beside him, not caring how close she was - she was freezing and no longer found a care as she nestled up beside him for warmth. It was odd, it was - they were like two puzzle pieces, their bodies, hers fitting into the servals and everything. She was snug - comfortable. Maybe it was the May part of her coming out, huh? If only she knew she was a reincarnate.
"No.. No, it doesn't." The servaline trainee almost mumbled under his breath, though it was audible to the bobcat's ears if she was paying attention. He did not mean to be rude, though; he just disliked getting into trouble, though that was clear. "Do.. you like danger? Trouble? You sure do seem like it."
Absolon opened his mouth slightly as he got ready to reply to the other wildcat, but before he knew it she was pressing against her. His cheeks and ears grew hot as he frantically searched the room, looking for words to say; but there were none.
He gulped once, then drew his tail over her to wrap it over her side; he crouched down a bit so the height between them was shortened, though he did nothing else. The serval was quite scared to, after all-- he didn't want to scare her off. "I.. I'm used to the cold. I never really had.. someone to hold." He didn't mean romantically, either; his parents were pretty shitty, they let him starve and freeze. But this? This felt.. nice.
